Welcome!

A couple months ago, I decided I wanted to try to learn to knit or crochet.  I tried knitting first and just could not get the hang of it.  I decided to try crochet and ran across Craftyminx Crochet School.  I followed each lesson and before I knew it, I was almost a pro!  Her videos and lessons were extremely helpful.  If you are just learning or want to learn, I highly suggest you check out her website.  Once I completed that, I started searching Ravelry for patterns, started buying up cheap acrylic yarn, making lots of granny squares, and other simple and quick patterns.  I kept finding patterns for washcloths and dishcloths that I wanted to make, but needed cotton yarn for those, so I ordered several skeins of Lily Sugar'n Cream and made a couple washcloths and absolutely love it.  Here are just a few of the things that I have made so far:

Leg Warmers for my daughter

Owl (was supposed to be a key chain, but turned out way too big for that)

Craftyminx Granny Square

The granny squares above will eventually be turned into afghans once I have enough squares made.  The purple, gray, and blue granny squares were made using the method Craftyminx taught in her crochet school.  Everything else above are patterns I found on Ravelry.  I have included links to each pattern above.  You will need to create a Ravelry account, but that is completely free.

As you can probably tell, I get bored easily.  I can't just sit and make the same granny squares over and over so I will make a few of one kind, then find a quick project to do, then make a few of the other kind.  I know it will take a lot longer to finish the afghans that way, but I know I will not enjoy it as much if I just keep making the same things over and over again and a hobby is supposed to be fun right?

I really want my next quick project to be these little round baskets, but the site to the pattern has been down for maintenance for a few days now so I might have to try something else.
